After the fire in a warehouse in Marktredwitz with damage amounting to millions, the criminal police took over the investigation. A spokeswoman for the Upper Franconian police headquarters said on Sunday. The hall in which building materials were stored was fully on fire on Saturday evening when the emergency services arrived. According to the Wunsiedel District Fire Brigade Association, four firefighters were slightly injured during the operation. They received medical care on site. Since the building is directly adjacent to the train station, rail traffic had to be interrupted. The hall burned down completely, but the fire did not spread to surrounding buildings and machines. According to the fire brigade, the remaining parts of the hall were torn down and extinguished with the help of an excavator. The cause of fire was unclear for the moment. The exact amount of damage has also not yet been quantified. It is clear, however, that the damage runs into the millions, said the police spokeswoman.
