Two days after the success in the all-around, the 29-year-old record champion won gold on the uneven bars in Düsseldorf with 14,200 points. In a good-class final, the third-place finisher prevailed against Sophie Scheder from Chemnitz, who scored 13.666 points. Pauline Schäfer-Betz from Chemnitz secured third place with 13.066 points.

Previously, Mia Neumann from Dresden had won the decision on vault. The 19-year-old won with 12.316 points ahead of Karina Schönmaier from Chemnitz (12.300) and Salina Bousmayo from Düsseldorf (12.299).

Mousichidis surprised

In the men’s category, however, youngster Daniel Mousichidis was able to outsmart the established players and won two individual titles on the first day of the final. The 18-year-old European Junior Champion from Schwalbach won both on floor and pommel horse. In the final battle on the ground, Mousichidis prevailed with 13.966 points ahead of Tom Schultze from Cottbus (13.600) and Timo Eder from Ludwigsburg (13.333), who was the same age.

On horseback, the three-time German Junior Champion won with 13.900 points ahead of defending champion Pascal Brendel (Wetzlar/13.600) and Nils Dunkel from Halle/Saale (13.533), who came third at the European Championships.

In the third men’s decision of the first day of the finals, Nick Klessing from Halle/Saale won the ring title with 13.933 points, after being the best in qualifying on the floor and having lost all chances of a medal due to a fall. Second on rings was Alexander Kunz (Pfuhl/13.200) ahead of Carlo Hörr from Schmiden (13.133).
