Final in the DEL: Eisbären strike back against Bremerhaven

Record champions Eisbären Berlin struck back in the playoff final of the German Ice Hockey League (DEL).

Coach Serge Aubin’s team prevailed on Friday evening (19.04.24) in the second duel with the main round winner Fischtown Pinguins Bremerhaven with 5:3 (1:0, 3:3, 1:0) and equalized in the best-of- seven series at 1:1.

Müller “satisfied” after two goals

“We can be satisfied,” said double goalscorer Jonas Müller at MagentaSport, “we had a few slacks in the second third, but we fought back well and gave full throttle in the last third. We have to keep going like this.”

In front of 14,200 spectators in the sold-out arena at Ostbahnhof, striker Leo Pföderl (19th/30th), Blaine Byron (25th) and Müller (39th/47th) scored the goals for the capital city team, who have their sights on their tenth title.

For the Pinguins, who won the start of the first DEL final series in their club history 4-2, top scorer Jan Urbas (29th/32nd) and Ziga Jeglic (35th) scored. The third game will be played on Sunday (04/21/24, 3:30 p.m.) in Bremerhaven.
