These professionals responded to a call for mobilization from two unions, the CGT Spectacle and the National Union of Technicians and Workers in Cinematographic and Television Production (SNTPCT), to protest against the overhaul of unemployment insurance for intermittent workers in the entertainment industry. .
The CGT reported five shootings, series and films, affected by strikes or walkouts. That of the fifth season of the series HPI was interrupted all day Thursday, and is scheduled to resume Friday morning, its executive producer confirmed. The technicians ask to “keep the regime as it is”, explained Nicolas Labrousse, chief electrician and staff delegate on the HPI set.
The filming of the series Deterco-produced by France Télévisions, was suspended for around an hour due to a walkout by “almost all” of the technicians, according to the production director.
Other strike days planned
The specific regime for intermittent workers in the entertainment industry currently allows them to receive unemployment benefits from 507 hours worked in the year, but could be modified by ongoing negotiations, which must be concluded before the deadline of November 10.
Other mobilization actions by show technicians were carried out on Thursday in several cities, including Nantes, Marseille, Toulouse and Lyon. The various professions in the sector are planning other days of mobilization during the month of November, to demand salary increases from production companies.
