Film “Kangaroo Conspiracy”: Why does Marc-Uwe Kling reject wealth? – Company

Marc-Uwe Kling not only became famous with his communist kangaroo, it also brought him a lot of money. But what do you do with it if you reject capitalism? A conversation about the luxury of Bechstein grand pianos, kangaroo merchandise and enormous sums in the current account.

Interviewed by

Hannes Vollmut

Marc-Uwe Kling traveled to Berlin with the regional train from his vacation in Havelland. He himself is probably less well-known than his most important fictional character, the communist Kreuzberg kangaroo, who first made the 40-year-old artist famous and then rich, at least in theory. A little wrinkled and tired, Kling sits on a beer bench in a garden near Nollendorfplatz, eats blueberries and, for once, talks about himself.
