Oscar winner Robert de Niro once co-founded the Tribeca Film Festival. For his 80th birthday he is now getting his very own festival.
American actor Robert De Niro gets his own Festival. The organizers of the Tribeca Festival announced that the “De Niro Con” will celebrate the life and work of the Oscar winner in New York from June 14th to 16th.
De Niro once co-founded the Tribeca Festival. Now the current organizers are organizing his own festival, which will overlap with this year’s Tribeca Festival (June 5th to 16th). Among other things, the “De Niro Con” will include panels, film screenings and exhibitions.
For your 80th birthday
The festival is also intended to honor the Hollywood star’s 80th birthday, which he celebrated on August 17th. At the Tribeca Festival last year, co-founder Jane Rosenthal announced the idea of a separate festival for De Niro.
“It’s difficult to know what to get Bob for his 80th birthday. He already has a gold watch, so we decided to celebrate him and his enduring legacy with a fun fan event that also pays tribute to him his never-ending devotion to his films, his art and the city he loves.”
