Christopher Nolan receives US directing award
The atomic bomb drama “Oppenheimer” is clearly on course for an Oscar. Director Christopher Nolan wins another important award.
After his win at the Golden Globes, the director Christopher Nolan also won the US directing award for “Oppenheimer”. Nolan received the prestigious directing award at the Directors Guild of America (DGA) gala on Sunday night.
He beat Greta Gerwig (“Barbie”), Giorgos Lanthimos (“Poor Things”), Alexander Payne (“The Holdovers”) and Martin Scorsese (“Killers of the Flower Moon”). The award is considered a barometer for the upcoming Oscars in March. Nolan was nominated for the DGA Awards for the fifth time, but this was his first time taking home a trophy.
