In the thriller “The Devil’s Order” Al Pacino played the devil, and now he is supposed to play an exorciser of devils in “The Ritual”. Dan Stevens is also taking part in the planned exorcism film.

Oscar winner Al Pacino (83, “The Scent of Women”) and Dan Stevens (41, “I am your human”) will take on the main roles in the planned exorcism thriller “The Ritual”. The production company XYZ Films has now announced the project directed by David Midell. The film is based on a true story of exorcism that was carried out by two priests on a woman in the US state of Iowa in the 1920s. Ashley Greene (37, “Twilight”) and Abigail Cowen (26, “Redeeming Love”) also star in the film.

Al Pacino is known for his roles in films such as “The Godfather”, “Scarface”, “The Irishman” and “Scent of a Woman”, for which he was awarded the Oscar for Best Actor in 1993. In the thriller “On behalf of the devil” (1997) he played a lawyer behind whom the devil is hiding. The Brit Dan Stevens (“Downton Abbey”) played a humanoid robot in the futuristic tragicomedy “I’m Your Human” by director Maria Schrader, and in the political series “Gaslit” he played a mastermind in the Watergate scandal. Stevens can currently be seen in the monster flick “Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire” in cinemas.
