The soccer World Cup in Qatar will start on November 20th, one day earlier than previously planned. As the world association FIFA announced, hosts Qatar and Ecuador will then play the opening game.

The soccer World Cup in Qatar will start on November 20th, one day earlier than previously planned. As the world association FIFA announced, hosts Qatar and Ecuador will then play the opening game.

This decision was taken after a unanimous decision by the FIFA Council Committee. Previously, the match between Senegal and the Netherlands on 21 November at 13.00 local time was scheduled to be the tournament’s first game. This match is now scheduled to kick off at 7:00 p.m. on November 21st.
