Fewer points deducted from your driving license? This is due to a “computer complication”

A “computer complication” originating from the services of ANTAI (National Agency for the Automated Processing of Offenses) is currently leading to a drop in the number of points withdrawn from driving licenses, AFP learned from Road Safety on Friday.

Contacted by AFP, the president of the National Union of Points License Professionals (SNPAP), Joël Polteau, said he had observed a 35% reduction in activity, since last November, in centers allowing license points to be recovered. . This decline is not without consequences on the profession, with “financial difficulties in the centers and point license facilitators on the floor”, he lamented.

A situation “being resolved”

“Since January, we have noticed a decrease in the number of trainees in road safety awareness centers,” the organization said. This drop is linked to the reduction in the number of driving license points withdrawn and would result from two factors, according to Road Safety. “On the one hand, the removal of the withdrawal of a point for speeding below 5 km/h which came into force on January 1, 2024; on the other hand, a computer complication which delayed the processing of offenses,” she detailed.

“This difficulty is being resolved in the coming days,” assured Road Safety.
