The CSU local groups from Kirchheim and Feldkirchen are demanding significant improvements on bus route 262 this year and not only in 2023 and have approached the Munich district office with this request. “Unfortunately, there are still significant gaps in service on regional bus line 262,” says Kirchheim CSU chairwoman Dorothea Wallura. “Elderly people in particular need the bus to get to the S-Bahn. That’s why we are committed to getting the 20-minute cycle as quickly as possible and also an offer at the weekend.” If more people are to be persuaded to switch to local public transport, improvements are needed, says Herbert Vanvolsem, Deputy Mayor in Feldkirchen. The 262 is considered an important connection between the two communities to the S-Bahn and the U2 and opens up new residential areas in Kirchheim and in Feldkirchen the previously unconnected east of the community and serves as a connection to the commercial area. The District Attorney’s Office has indicated that the application will be reviewed.
