Bernhard and Bianca – The Mouse Police

An animated classic from Disney, almost 50 years old now. In the USA alone, it has now brought in around 150 times its production costs. He shows where in the headquarters of the United Nations the most effective action is taken against the evil in the world: in the basement, from where a rescue relief organization operates. It includes the bold mouse Bianca and the shy mouse Bernard, who is in love with her and who are repeatedly sent on tricky missions to save those in need. In their current assignment, which takes them to the swamps of Louisiana and is half salvage maneuver, half agent’s trade, they are dependent on the help of the albatross Orville, who is only partially airworthy. Her opponent is Madame Medusa, who is as terrible as she is greedy.

Even monsters start small. Well, Cyclops Mike never grew up physically. But he’s still in training here, so he’s far from outgrown puberty and is therefore even more fickle in many ways than later. At Monster Uni, he first meets the shaggy Sulley, who will one day be his best buddy, but is still a competitor. But soon the two are in the same boat, labeled as losers – and making the best of it. What is inevitable in all of this: they create utter chaos.

When sea monsters go ashore, they transform and in their new form are almost indistinguishable from humans. That’s what the daring sea monster teenager Alberto tells his buddy Luca, who is gradually getting bored with his life as a sea monster off the Italian coast. So they dare an excursion on land, which of course turns into a great adventure and gives them an idea of la dolce vita. In human form, the two meet an intrepid girl, enjoy life on the beach – and forget themselves about it. It doesn’t take long for Luca’s worried parents to follow the runaways. Having no idea what their son looks like out of water, they throw water indiscriminately over children’s heads. Soon there is a commotion in the postcard idyll.

Bee Movie – The Honey Plot

It’s not fair to say that young bees have a world and a variety of opportunities open to them after they graduate from college. The path of the drone Barry B. Benson also seems predetermined: a working life in a honey factory. But Barry is not made for a (bourgeois) bourgeois bee life, so he drops out – and starts a kind of revolution. Because through contact with people, he realizes who eats all the honey, for which his kind has to work very hard. And so will Bee Movie in between to a court film because Barry is suing a honey manufacturer. However, the success he wins in court turns into a Pyrrhic victory. Because bees that don’t pollinate flowers end up digging their own grave. The bitter moral: Get to work!
