FC Bayern – Pavard has to stay, Stanisic moves to Leverkusen: Munich transfer policy is a mystery

Benjamin Pavard didn’t even try to hide his frustration. After his goal to make it 1-0 in the so-called “dream game” against the “Weinbeisser Kaltern” fan club, the Frenchman showed no emotion, didn’t make a face, trotted back towards the center circle with his head bowed.

Only grumpily did he high-five with assist provider Thomas Müller, who almost comfortingly patted his head three times. Even when central defender Matthijs de Ligt talked to the Frenchman with a smile, Pavard didn’t bat an eyelash.

Only one person in Caldaro didn’t feel like laughing at all. His zero-buck attitude at the fan event brought Pavard a lot of criticism on social media. That he, like that “Picture” reported that he would have liked to forgo an assignment, it was easy to see.

Pavard wants to go to Inter

But after “foosball”information, the German record champions are now insisting that Pavard fulfill his contract on the Isar, which runs until 2024 – even though the former sports director Hasan Salihamidzic is said to have given him permission to change in May.

Inter-boss Marotta himself pushed behind what a change is about: “Bayern needs a replacement to let him go.”

Instead of Pavard, the always reliable home-grown player Josip Stanisic is now leaving the Bavarian capital on loan. The German-Croat was officially introduced to Bayer Leverkusen on Sunday. The 23-year-old had impressed in the pre-season, showed strong performances in the friendlies and scored both against Kawasaki Frontale (1-0) and Liverpool (4-3).

As usual, modestly and without protesting, he accepted the challenge role on the trip to Asia. “I’m just trying to make the decision as difficult as possible for the coach,” said the native of Munich.

Stanisic outside of Tuchel

In the competitive games against Leipzig (0: 3) and Bremen (4: 0), coach Tuchel then completely dispensed with Stanisic and did not even call him into the squad. In the DFL Supercup, the defender had to sit in the stands next to the injured Manuel Neuer and Müller.

The Bavarian managers are supposed to “Sport1”– Information thinks highly of the 23-year-old and trusts him to become a regular player in the future, but the Munich team could not guarantee their home-grown player sufficient playing time.
“In order to develop at the highest level, he needs continuous commitment,” explained Jan-Christian Dreesen in the official announcement on Sunday. Instead, he should get that from coach Xabi Alonso, who is said to have been courting the versatile defender himself.

Stanisic’s departure puts Bayern under pressure

Exactly the profile that people on the Isar are now looking for. Because the situation there is different: blank emptiness instead of competition. With the departure of Stanisic, Bayern are creating a large construction site on the defensive for no reason.

Without the youngster, Munich’s only regular Noussair Mazraoui remains in the right-back position – and Pavard.

Difficult search for the alternative

Italian mediator Giovanni Branchini, who is involved in the Frenchman’s negotiations with Inter, told Opposite “Radio Sportive”: “Bayern still needs to find a player who can support Mazraoui.”

However, as long as those responsible do not succeed, the exit door for Pavard will probably remain closed. The time to find an adequate alternative is running out. Talks with Manchester City’s Kyle Walker have gone nowhere.

It is unlikely that strategist Kimmich or newcomer Konrad Laimer will switch to right-back as an emergency solution. Just as the record champions find a top player at such a late stage of the transfer window who would compensate for Pavard’s departure.

Pavard’s sting is deep

How much sense it makes to force the whereabouts of the Frenchman has also been in question since the “dream game” in South Tyrol at the latest.

The fact that Pavard’s sting is deep was not only evident when he made it 1-0 on Saturday. In midfield, after a duel, the defender got into a tussle with a player from the fan club selection while lying on the ground.

A symbol: The followers, as you can read on social media, have finished with Pavard since this appearance at the latest. The departure of replacement Stanisic should not have brightened the mood of the 2018 world champion.

FC Bayern has put itself under pressure with its transfer policy on the right back.
