This means that the total downtime will increase to at least ten weeks – more than initially hoped after the muscle-tendon injury in the left adductor seven weeks ago in the 5-1 defeat in Frankfurt (on December 9, 2023)…
It is therefore clear: Gnabry will not only be missing in the Bundesliga home game against Gladbach on Saturday (3.30 p.m./Sky), but also in the top games in Leverkusen (February 10th, 6.30 p.m./Sky) and in the first leg of the round of 16 at Lazio Rome (February 14th, 9 p.m./DAZN).

Bitter for Tuchel: Because the coach urgently needs the DFB star after his French wing colleague Coman will be out for at least eight weeks and realistically probably ten weeks, according to BILD information!
Gnabry has been fighting for his comeback on the pitch for two weeks. But the 2020 triple winner hasn’t made any real progress in his rehab on the pitch. So far it has not been possible to train with the ball.
On the Monday without training, he completed circuit training for 30 minutes – but still only in the running area (including jogging, through slalom poles, on the running ladder).
A full load is not yet an option. Because the tendons are involved in the muscle injury, the risk of re-injury is otherwise too great.

So, in addition to the huge defensive bottleneck due to injuries, Tuchel has Joshua Kimmich (28/left shoulder), Konrad Laimer (26/around ten weeks break after muscle and tendon injury in the left calf), Dayot Upamecano (25/torn fiber in the left thigh), Bouna Sarr (31/torn cruciate ligament in the left knee ) and Tarek Buchmann (18/torn bundle and thigh operation) as well as the decommissioning of defense stars Noussair Mazraoui (26/with Morocco at the Africa Cup) and Minjae Kim (27/with South Korea at the Asian Cup) now also offensive Care for.
