Leroy Sané has to take a break again against Cologne. The pubic bone reacted after the Arsenal use. Bayern coach Tuchel is also making people sit up and take notice with a prediction for the home European Championship.

Bayern coach Thomas Tuchel’s fitness update on the national soccer player Leroy Sané before the home game against 1. FC Köln also contained worrying information for national coach Julian Nagelsmann with a view to the approaching home European Championship.

After his strong performance in the 2-2 Champions League game against Arsenal FC on Saturday (3:30 p.m.), the winger has to take another break in the Bundesliga against 1. FC Cologne, as Tuchel announced

Sané “showed a reaction” after the 66-minute mission last Wednesday in London, Tuchel reported on Friday. And then it happened: 28-year-old Sané “couldn’t cure the pain in his pubic bone during ongoing operations,” as Tuchel explained. Looking to the coming weeks, he added: “It will stay that way in the current season and at the European Championships.” The problems will probably accompany Sané until the summer. The home tournament starts on June 14th.

Tuchel’s plan for Sané is that he slowly starts training again on Sunday and can play in the crucial quarter-final second leg against Arsenal. That’s the focus, said the coach. Sané’s offensive qualities are absolutely needed in the premier class, as Tuchel said: “Leroy was an important factor in the first leg against Arsenal.”

Tuchel, who was suspended after four yellow cards, is not allowed to coach the game against Cologne on the sidelines. “I think I’ll watch it in the box,” said the 50-year-old. In addition to Sané, national striker Serge Gnabry, who is injured again, will also be out.

Tuchel wants to make a few changes against Cologne to give rhythm to players like Thomas Müller, who have recently been on the bench. Since Alphonso Davies will be suspended against Arsenal, full-back alternatives Raphael Guerreiro and Noussair Mazroui should also be in the starting line-up together. But the coach left it open who starts where.

Manuel Neuer will be in goal. The captain stopped training on Thursday. “With Manu, I completely understand that he can play,” said Tuchel.
