FC Bayern outclasses Red Bull Salzburg – and moves into the quarter-finals

Gala evening in Munich: After a strong performance against Red Bull Salzburg, FC Bayern has made it into the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
The German record champion FC Bayern Munich has reached the quarter-finals of the soccer Champions League – for the twentieth time and in an impressive way!
Coach Julian Nagelsmann’s team clearly won their home game in the round of 16 7-1 against Red Bull Salzburg on Tuesday evening. After 45 minutes it was 4-0. The first leg ended 1:1.
Robert Lewandowski with a hat trick for FC Bayern
Scorer Robert Lewandowski was once again outstanding in the game in front of 25,000 spectators in the Munich Arena. The 33-year-old Pole completed a hat-trick within eleven minutes (12th minute/penalty, 21st/penalty, 23rd). Serge Gnabry (31st), twice Thomas Müller (54th/83rd) and Leroy Sané (86th) scored the other goals for Munich. Salzburg’s Maurits Kjaergaard scored in the 71st minute to make it 5-1.
In the second round of 16 second leg of the evening, Inter Milan defeated Liverpool 1-0. The first leg ended 2-0 for the English.

- Manchester United vs. Atletico Madrid (Tuesday, March 15, 9 p.m., 1-1)
- Lille OSC vs Chelsea FC (Wednesday, March 16, 9 p.m., 0:2)
- Juventus vs Villareal (Wednesday, March 16, 9 p.m., 1-1)
FC Bayern last German representative in the Champions League
The round of eight games will be drawn on March 18. FC Bayern Munich is the last remaining German participant in the football premier class.
