In beautiful late summer weather, FC Bayern prepared for the explosive reunion with Robert Lewandowski in final training on Monday.

Coach Julian Nagelsmann only had to do without attacker Kingsley Coman during the training session on the club’s premises.

As usual, the tactical game preparation was carried out after the warm-up, which was visible to the media, behind the opaque curtain. After three draws in a row in the Bundesliga and the unsuccessful dress rehearsal against VfB Stuttgart at the German record champions, there are many discussions about form, rotation and a possibly missing center forward after Lewandowski.

Lewandowski still on target

The world footballer also hits the assembly line in Barcelona. Lewandowski has scored six times in the Spanish league. The 34-year-old Pole scored three goals in Barcelona’s 5-1 win at the start of the premier class against Viktoria Pilsen. “We know that we’re expecting a strong team that’s in good spirits,” said Bayern captain Manuel Neuer after their own 2-0 start at Inter Milan. And the national goalkeeper said to Lewandowski: “We all know Lewy from training. We know what skills he has. But he also knows that it’s not easy to play against us.”

Compared to the Stuttgart game, Bayern players who were completely or partially rested, such as Sadio Mané, Leroy Sané, Lucas Hernández, Benjamin Pavard and Marcel Sabitzer, are likely to start again.
