Eberl on Bayern’s coaching search: “Going into final phase”

According to Bayern Munich’s sports director Max Eberl, the search for a coach for the new season is “into the final phase”. The manager did not want to comment on speculation about a possible return campaign by national soccer coach Julian Nagelsmann.
“We had a lot of conversations, Christoph (friend) and I, and it was also very exciting,” said Eberl and added: “The coach is a very important person. One of a few, but still the decisive one.” Therefore, care is important when making a decision.
Nagelsmann had recently been traded again and again. The national coach was released last year and replaced by Thomas Tuchel. At that time, Oliver Kahn and Hasan Salihamidzic were still in charge at Bayern. “I didn’t have a fight with Julian, so there was no need for peace talks,” joked Eberl. FC Bayern has agreed with Tuchel to terminate his contract at the end of the season.
