At least the FC Bayern players didn’t make one mistake that day. When the final whistle sounded and the clap was confirmed in Frankfurt, the team immediately made its way to their own fans. During the only defeat of the season so far in the DFB Cup in Saarbrücken, many players disappeared straight into the dressing room, which provoked even more displeasure. This time the collective walk to the supporters took place. And while the Bayern players stood on the pitch in disbelief and at least received encouragement from their own corner, the Frankfurt fans sang a beautiful a capella version of their club anthem “In the Heart of Europe”.
