Dayot Upamecano did something at the World Cup that hardly any footballer can do. In the final against Argentina he was chasing Lionel Messi on the edge of the French penalty area, didn’t let the best player on the planet dribble towards the goal, forced him to run parallel to the penalty line – and slid the ball off his foot.
