FC Barcelona – Pedri reveals: “If Real Madrid hadn’t canceled”

It’s no secret that Barca shooting star Pedri once auditioned for Real Madrid. Now the Spaniard speaks again about the situation at the time.

The Spanish international Pedri from FC Barcelona has revealed that he has not been averse to a transfer to Real Madrid in the past.

“I would not have canceled Real Madrid,” said the 19-year-old in an interview with Tuttosport and added: “You have to take the chances. In the end it was they who didn’t want to sign me. Nothing happens for no reason, I got my second chance at the club of my life.”

Pedri extended long-term at Barca in October

About a year ago, Pedri had already announced that that he had once completed a trial training session with arch-rivals from Madrid and then received a rejection from the royal team.

The midfielder moved to Barcelona in the summer of 2019, but was initially loaned back to UD Las Palmas for one season before moving permanently to Blaugrana before the start of the 2020/21 season. His contract, which originally ran until 2022, was recently extended for another four years.
