Frenkie de Jong apparently has no future at FC Barcelona. There are interested parties for the Dutchman.

Like the Spanish AS reported, FC Barcelona is said to have made a decision on Frenkie de Jong’s personnel: According to this, the Catalans are planning to sell the Dutchman.

Several top European clubs are said to be interested in the 24-year-old national player – including FC Bayern Munich and Juventus. However, FC Barcelona’s asking price could pose a problem for those interested. Barca are hoping for a transfer fee of €70m, according to the report.

Xavi wants to stick with de Jong

De Jong joined FC Barcelona from Ajax Amsterdam in 2019, for whom he has since recorded 13 goals and 17 assists in 137 games. However, he did not make the final breakthrough in the heavily occupied Barca midfield.

Barcelona manager Xavi has had in recent weeks said again and again, that de Jong plays an important role in his future planning. But now, according to the report, there are many indications that De Jong will leave the club well before the end of his contract, which runs until 2026.
