Exhibition: The Kiev Biennale
The makers of the Kiev Biennale have to be stingy with heating. According to curator Georg Schöllhammer, it swallows up a third of the modest budget. If you keep your coat on in the high exhibition rooms, you will immediately be captivated by the energy that comes from this art show. Five years after its creation, it no longer takes place in Kiev. But in Ivano-Frankivsk and Uzhhorod, in Warsaw, Antwerp, Berlin. But mainly in Vienna, spread across the city, especially in the Augarten studio, which has been empty for years and was built by the Nazi-affiliated Georg Lippert for the similarly-minded sculptor Gustinus Ambrosi in the 1950s.
