A fatal swimming accident occurred last Tuesday in the early evening hours in the Eichenau bathing lake. According to the Fürstenfeldbruck police, an 83-year-old woman went under while swimming in the water. She could only be recovered dead. Shortly after 6 p.m., after the daughter of the woman from Eichenau who died in the accident saw only her mother’s bathing cap floating on the surface of the lake, she immediately began searching and notified the police and rescue services.

Although the rapid response team of the BRK water rescue service was only nine minutes after the alarm on site, the search was tedious due to the difficult to pinpoint the place of sinking in the water, according to their mission report. At around 7:15 p.m., the missing person was found on the lake floor by rescue divers from the middle of the lake, but was only rescued lifeless. The police has started investigation.
