A man in his 60s has died after suffering a heavy fall. He pruned a tree in his home, from which he cut a branch, when he lost his balance at the top of the ladder on which he was. He fell about ten meters before hitting the ground violently below.
The tragedy occurred in Saint-Jean-de-Valeriscle, a town in the Cévennes located about fifteen kilometers north of Alès, in the Gard. Despite their attempts to resuscitate, the firefighters were unable to rescue the man, victim of a head trauma.
