Fast Fashion: “Many people can’t afford branded goods.” – Economy

If you want to dress well, you don’t have to spend a lot of money these days. This is what a look at the current brochures from the discounter Aldi Süd shows: you can get a chic sleep shirt for women for just 5.99 euros, functional outdoor pants for 12.99 and a T-shirt from the fashion brand Mexx for 6.99. So it’s no wonder that discounters in Germany are now among the largest sellers of clothing. If the French government has its way, such parts would cost at least a few euros in the neighboring country in the future, thanks to a government surcharge. At least that’s what a law stipulates with which the fashion nation wants to declare war on so-called fast fashion, i.e. cheap fashion.
