Fascination: Pininfarina B95
The raging power boat
Pininfarina is presenting its second model series after the Battista with the B95 at the Monterey Car Week. This time open, purely electric and unspeakably expensive.
“This is arguably the most exciting chapter in the history of Automobili Pininfarina to date – we are taking another major step forward. The launch of the B95 this summer is the third of three significant milestones for our brand,” says Paolo Dellachà, CEO of Automobili Pininfarina. If you are interested in the dream car, you have to be fast – very fast. Just ten vehicles are produced in a small series – at a unit price of 4.4 million euros. Not only the exterior design with 20 inchers at the front and 21 inchers at the rear is worth seeing, but also the unusual interior. In addition to the two leather seats, the Pininfarina B95 offers the world’s first electrically adjustable aeroscreen. Inspired by historic fighter planes, the screens, made from clear polycarbonate, feature exposed aluminum supports. They can be raised and lowered by the occupants to improve comfort without sacrificing design. On request Pininfarina offers suitable helmets.
The Pininfarina B95 is powered by a 1,400 kW / 1,900 hp electric drive on all four wheels, which is fed by a 120 kWh battery in the underbody. The T-shaped battery pack can be charged from 20 to 80 percent in 25 minutes with a maximum charging capacity of 270 kW. Five different driving modes use torque vectoring to give the driver the opportunity to adapt power delivery and handling to the driving conditions. From a standstill, it accelerates to 100 km/h in less than two seconds and when the road is clear, the open jester runs more than 300 km/h.
