Farmers across Germany are taking to the barricades, protesting against the traffic light government’s policies. Among other things, highways should be blocked.
Innkeepers, truck drivers and retailers have announced that they will show solidarity. However, the tractors are also concerned that right-wing extremists and lateral thinkers could use the protests as a stage.

Farmers are also blocking net central warehouses
In Thiendorf (Saxony), farmers blocked a Netto central warehouse on Monday night. Traffic was completely paralyzed by a rally in front of the entrance.
Farmers warm themselves on wood stoves in sub-zero temperatures
At -4 degrees, the farmers are shivering at the Brandenburg Gate late on Sunday evening. Around 100 have already arrived with their tractors from large parts of Germany. You warm yourself at two large wood stoves.
Farmers’ President asks for leniency
The President of the German Farmers’ Association, Joachim Rukwied, is asking for leniency for possible disruptions at the start of the farmers’ protests on Monday. “We ask the population for their understanding. We don’t want to lose the great support and solidarity that we receive from large parts of society,” Rukwied told the magazine “Stern” (Monday edition), according to the preliminary report.
“If we travel with tractors, there will inevitably be traffic delays.”
Brandenburg Gate vigil started
The farmers’ vigil planned for 11 p.m. at the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin began about an hour late.
Around 100 tractors at the Brandenburg Gate
On Sunday evening there is nothing going on on the Straße des 17. Juni in Berlin except loud honking and heavy equipment. Around 100 farmers have now arrived at the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin with their tractors. The number has roughly doubled since the early evening, including farmers from the surrounding area (Brandenburg), but also from Schleswig-Holstein.
Aldi central warehouse blocked
In Lingen (Lower Saxony), protesters blocked all access to an Aldi central warehouse. This is reported by “Nord West Media TV”. According to this, around 50 farmers took part in the campaign.
Farmer Rudi Snakes is quoted as saying: “We let the Aldi employees pass in their private cars, otherwise no one can get through. We want to draw attention to ourselves with this campaign. Large corporations continue to gag us with prices. We can no longer exist like this and politics is letting us down.”
School has to close due to protests
In Rinteln (Lower Saxony), a vocational school had to close on Monday because of the farmers’ protests, as the “Schaumburger Zeitung” writes. The school management relies on distance learning.
Grilling against the cold
As we know, there can be no fight without munch: a woman stands at the grill in Berlin, flips sausages and treats herself to a bottle of beer. At night it will be up to -8 degrees in Berlin.

Rally planned with 500 tractors
Farmers from Saarland protest with a tractor rally. Drivers must therefore prepare for significant traffic disruptions throughout the state from early in the morning, as the police announced.
The farmers’ rally will take place in three convoys to Schlossplatz in Saarbrücken, where the final rally is planned for Monday afternoon. The police expect around 500 vehicles to be involved.
