The farmers’ protests against the federal government’s austerity plans have begun. The first streets and motorway entrances are blocked. Thousands of farmers want to join the demos in Lower Saxony.
Early in the morning, the first farmers, like those in the Uelzen district, blocked roads with their tractors. The police had warned road users in advance of major restrictions. The extent will vary greatly from region to region, it was said. The early shift at the VW plant in Emden has been canceled due to the announced protests. Farmer protests announced in the northwest
Aurich district:

Federal government wants to partially reverse cuts
