Beijing Express. A program to discover this Thursday evening on M6. Duo accomplice in the city as on the screen, the two lovers have not let go since high school. Their particularity: to have “remained big children” and to cultivate “their whimsical universe”. So, Beijing Express was quite a challenge. Backpacking and hitchhiking trips, they knew “not at all”.
“We set up our photo-video business at a very young age, which took a lot of our time and energy. So the only trip we made was for our honeymoon,” explains Fanny, 34. Three weeks by car across the United States with “small hotels” reserved for each stage. ” Beijing Express, it was an initiation ritual, adds Jérémy, hilarious. The first time we had to look for a house and knock on the door of the inhabitants, it felt weird. But we slipped into the mould. Anyway, we had no choice. »
Lovers of the show since 2012
Absolute fan of the show since 2012, the couple began to dream in turn of epics in distant lands. “We had particularly followed the adventure of Ludovic and Samuel who had been beaten in the final that year. It had broken our hearts. But they came back the following season to win,” says Fanny. “We were on our knees in front of our television. We lived the adventure in our living room. We thought there was something going on with Beijing Express », adds Jeremy.
Both parents therefore decided to enroll last year. Before flying to the plains and yurts of Kyrgyzstan, the couple had to organize themselves: find “six families” to keep Wendy and Posy, their two little girls, during their absence. Anticipate in case they go to the end of the adventure.
Bet everything on the mind
On the eve of the broadcast of the show, the two are among the outsiders. They did not train physically. ” No time “. Fanny, however, started running “so as not to slow down” her partner. That’s all. “We are not great athletes,” they concede happily. “Our philosophy: we will go, we will see later”, specifies the mother. “Like in the movie fight club, we bet everything on the mind, laughs her husband. It’s not because you’re not muscular or athletic that you can’t go far…”
For the moment, no question of releasing a few indiscretions on their journey, the content is secretly kept. “We weren’t absolutely looking for victory, but we were apprehensive about leaving. We said to ourselves: It must not be now”, confesses the 37-year-old father of the family, simply specifying that there, “time passes differently”. Slower. Every minute is savored.
“We had a hard time on a daily basis, they qualify, laughing. But the show made us discover another facet of the world. It opened our eyes to the relationship with others, ”says the father of the family. “We met extremely caring people. They had nothing and yet they gave us everything. It put us back in our place”, completes his wife who wants to make their children “live this” from now on. In the meantime, the couple will watch Thursday’s show in the family cinema that Jérémy manages, with their loved ones. “For the moment, we are still perched on our little cloud…”. Struggling to resume a normal life after so many adventures and emotions.
