Faculty evacuated and closed for bomb threat

An anonymous email alerting of the upcoming explosion of a bomb was received by various Aix sites of the University of Aix-Marseille this Thursday morning. According to Provence, other French universities would have received similar threats. Yesterday, Wednesday, it was the Arras branch of the Faculty of Artois which had to close its doors to remove doubts.

Immediately, the approximately 40,000 students on the Aix-en-Provence campuses were asked to return home while the deminers were called in. This bomb threat comes in a context of multiplication of these anonymous threats since the start of the Israel-Hamas war, causing the repeated evacuation of several airports and tourist and cultural places.
