Faced with the threat of drones, Thalès has developed PARADE to neutralize them “in a few minutes or even seconds”

The use of drones in the war in Ukraine shows how drones represent an emerging threat. In one year, around 250,000 drones fly over France. “Not all of these drones represent a threat, but there are still more and more of them and we have to be able to neutralize them,” said Thierry Bron, director of the anti-drone fight at Thales.

The company specializing in aerospace, defense and security has partnered with the CS Group to develop modular deployable anti-drone protection systems (PARADE). These systems can be deployed in less than two hours, and require a footprint of less than 120 square meters. By triggering a jammer, which interrupts the signal between the drone and its remote control, the PARADE operator can neutralize threats quickly. “It’s a matter of minutes, even seconds,” said Eugène Cau, director of anti-drone control at the CS Group. The system will be used in particular to secure the 2023 Rugby World Cup.
