Special forces took the man into custody in his apartment on Tuesday. According to the Essen police, there had previously been “indications of a possible attack scenario”.

According to the “Bild” newspaper and “Spiegel”, the possible attack plans were directed against a pro-Israel demonstration. According to police, the searches in the apartment were completed on Wednesday night. “We are continuing to investigate at full speed,” said the spokesman. Police initially did not provide any information about the man’s age.
