Independent experts present anti-Muslim report
On behalf of the Federal Ministry of the Interior, scientists and associations have examined the manifestations and causes of Muslim hostility in Germany – these are now presented.
The Independent Expert Group on Islamophobia is presenting its final report today. The twelve members from science and associations were appointed in September 2020 by the former Interior Minister Horst Seehofer (CSU).
The ministry explained at the time that they were to analyze current and changing forms of hostility toward Muslims and examine them for intersections with anti-Semitic attitudes and other forms of group-related enmity. The members should also make recommendations for the fight against Islamophobia.
State Secretary Juliane Seifert is to receive the report entitled “Muslimphobia – A German Balance Sheet”, which will then be presented.
