Extraordinary school project: Coloring book co-designed by children – Ebersberg

It’s done. Fabsi and Trixi are allowed out into the world. In 2019, the two heroes created by Heidrun Lick came to life. When the Steinhöring elementary school teacher was once again looking for a new story to tell her son, she quickly came up with one of her own. And she did well to write down the adventures of Dino Fabsi and his girlfriend, the elf Trixi, because over time a whole book was created, illustrated by Munich resident Caro Dendörfer and drawn on by over 100 children from various schools in the Ebersberg district .

20 classes were involved in developing their own ideas based on the story read in class and the illustrations provided. More than 400 pictures of students at the elementary schools in Ebersberg, Steinhöring, Frauenneuharting, Moosach/Alxing, Glonn/Antholing and Kirchseeon, as well as the Freie Schule Glonntal, the Gymnasium Kirchseeon, the Poing Special Education Center (water lily school) and the Ebersberg kindergarten “Die Arche” were finally available. Heidrun Lick and her friend, the Zornedingen graphic designer Marie-Theres Reisser, selected the most beautiful ones and compiled them into a book.

All the children’s drawings are in black and white, because the very special thing about “Fabsi and Trixi – The Mysterious Cave” is that the young readers, for whom the book is intended, can and should color in the pictures themselves.

They will have the opportunity to do so next week. The Einhorn Verlag in Schwäbisch Gmünd publishes the book. It will be released on Thursday October 20th. On 84 pages, children from the age of six can visit Dino Fabsi on his rocky island, follow him and the elf Trixi into a cave and experience how they encounter a terrifying vampire, an underground lake and a magical forest. Of course everything turns out well in the end.
