Extension at Bayern: Müller agrees to Kahn – Nübel rules out early return

Also new before signature?

Thomas Müller shares the optimism of the Bayern management for a contract extension in Munich. There is nothing to announce yet, but there are “in good talks,” said the attacker after the 3-0 win in Bielefeld. The “picture“-Newspaper and later also “sky“ have already reported on details that should also apply to an approaching agreement with Manuel Neuer. Meanwhile, goalkeeper Alexander Nübel has ruled out an early return from Monaco.

Müller, who is only tied to FC Bayern until 2023, explained (quoted via “dpa”): “Both sides want and I believe that at the end of the day a good solution will be found.” In his typical way, he added 32-year-old with a smile: “But how, when, where: you’ll find out.” Maybe after a championship party next weekend, when the German record champion of all places against Borussia Dortmund (Saturday, 6:30 p.m.) 32. Bundesliga title can make it perfect early (to the Bundesliga table).

Munich could “create something historic”, as Müller emphasized after the days of frustration in Bavaria: “I don’t think a team has ever won ten championships in a row in the top 5 leagues. So we’re really excited about it.” Juventus won nine Serie A titles in Italy between 2012 and 2020. At least in the top leagues in Europe, no club has ever done more. Record holders in this respect are the Lincoln Red Imps from Gibraltar and Skonto Riga from Latvia.

New Bayern contracts for Müller and Neuer until 2025?

Board boss Kahn was already “very, very confident that we can say something about it in the short term” on Sunday in the program “Doppelpass” on “Sport1”. The “Bild” newspaper, with reference to its own information, assumes that Müller will extend the contract by two more years, i.e. until summer 2025.

Update 4 p.m: “Sky” also reported on Monday that Müller was about to sign, which FC Bayern could announce this week. In addition, there is also an agreement with goalkeeper Neuer. The 36-year-old captain should also be bound by 2025.

Müller is already one of the most loyal players of all current Bundesliga clubs. As an integral part of the Bayern squad, he is completing his 13th season in the Bundesliga and made his first short appearances almost 14 years ago.

Nübel rules out premature Bayern return – Ulreich before an extension?

Goalkeeper Nübel, who is currently on loan to AS Monaco, has only made one appearance for FC Bayern in Germany’s top division. The 25-year-old has now denied any consideration of ending the loan, which was scheduled to run until 2023, in order to return to Munich. “I will play for AS Monaco next season,” concluded Nübel Conversation with “Bild” reporter Tobias Altschäffl a change. The former Schalke player is a regular in Ligue 1.

“If Bayern have other plans, we have to talk about it. But for me it’s not an issue at the moment,” added Nübel on a possible return to Munich this summer. Altschäffl also reported that substitute keeper Sven Ulreich had a clear tendency to extend his contract by another year until 2023.
