If you turn on the YouTube memory machine again to support this text, search for the words “Mexico” “1986” and “Valérien”, you can expect (from today’s perspective) amazing things. First the ZDF world championship opening credits back then, short cut sequences: Hugo Sánchez lying in the air, team boss Beckenbauer barking with rage, then Brazilian women shaking their breasts, a bikini woman lying in the fountain. And a Mexican woman who did what young women had to do, at the time in the public football night program: looking into the camera with that overcast look. Wasn’t that called lascivious?
