Exoskeleton: This is how the muscle power to buckle up can relieve people

Winners of Jugend forscht and the German Founders’ Prize tell their stories. This time: Armin Schmidt, who manufactures exoskeletons with his start-up and wants to make our lives easier with them.

Recorded by Angelika Dietrich

If we look out the window in a few years, we will see a lot of people wearing some kind of exoskeleton: older people who need it to be able to walk better or get up from a chair. Nursing staff or parcel deliverers will also wear such vests. They will be part of everyday life – just as glasses are a completely normal aid today.
