Two reports about the US presidential election came across the Atlantic at the same time shortly before the end of the year. One caused a stir. The small east coast state of Maine wants to exclude the presumptive Republican candidate, former President Donald Trump, from the election. Reason: He was involved in an uprising against the constitutional order of the USA when the Capitol was stormed in 2021. Sounds good, but it is a political decision and not a judicial one.
