After the trial of Boris Becker, who has since been imprisoned, his wife posed as the spokeswoman for the family. But she wasn’t, according to Becker’s lawyer.
The imprisoned ex-tennis star Boris Becker has distanced himself from his separated wife Lilly Becker.
«Lilly Becker gives the impression that she is the spokeswoman for the family. But she’s not,” said the media lawyer for the exceptional athlete, Christian-Oliver Moser, of the magazine “Gala”.
“The person who has been in complicated divorce proceedings with my client for years and who, until recently, had no serious contact with the Becker family. A little restraint would be appropriate here.”
Boris and Lilly Becker got married in 2009 and separated in 2018. The couple have their son Amadeus (12).
Lilly Becker had sharply criticized the verdict against the tennis idol to two and a half years in prison for bankruptcy crimes. She also announced that she, Becker’s ex-wife Barbara and his current partner Lillian de Carvalho Monteiro would stick together. Attorney Moser said: “My client’s new girlfriend is old enough to speak for herself when it is appropriate. She doesn’t need Lilly Becker for that.”
