Before Jadon Sancho decided to join ManUnited, there were big advances for the former Dortmunder in the Three Lions.

Ex-BVB star Jadon Sancho has explained how fellow players from the English national team tried to lure him to their clubs last summer before he switched from Borussia Dortmund to Manchester United. “I’ve met Jesse Lingard, Marcus Rashford, Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw with the national team. They always said: ‘Come to United’,” said Sancho sky.

“There were also guys from Chelsea or Liverpool who all tried to convince me of their club,” Sancho continued. Ultimately, however, he decided on United, where he has not yet fully convinced. Sancho knows that too.

Sancho: “BVB tried very hard for me”

“I’m very self-critical. It certainly wasn’t my best season, but I learned a lot,” admitted Sancho, adding: “A new league, new players. I would say that I’m only now really starting to free myself. I’m feeling more and more comfortable and happy.”

The BVB managers apparently also did a lot of convincing before Sancho joined the black and yellow in 2017. “The club tried very hard for me,” recalled the 21-year-old.

Christian Pulisic also played a role, who was “almost a role model” for Sancho: “I saw him and thought: That could be me too.”
