Eurovision Song Contest 2023: Many great performances, in the end Germany lost – this is how Liverpool celebrated the ESC

In the evening in Liverpool, the Hamburg band Lord of the Lost finally wanted to bring some ESC fame back to their home country. The last good result for Germany was Michael Schulte in 2018, who finished fourth at the time. In 2022 in Turin Germany was last, a year earlier penultimate. And now – last again.

Due to the ongoing war, this year’s ESC could not take place in the ESC winning country Ukraine. The European broadcasting union EBU therefore awarded the alignment to the runner-up Great Britain.
