The intoxication is a Dane. Football, too, of course. And the European champion is in truth Denmark. If you don’t believe that, look at the pictures of the streets in Copenhagen, Aalborg and Odense after the last victories of the Danish soccer team, especially the one against the Czech Republic. While the cautious authorities of likewise victorious Italy at the same time only allowed 2,500 fans with advance notice to the 50,000 seated Piazza del Popolo, the people in Copenhagen showed Europe what ecstasy means: rolled over streets and squares, danced on the roofs of buses , sailed on a bare stomach and with a foaming mug in his hand over the beer-soaked slabs of the pedestrian zone.
