Étienne Mougeotte is dead, we learned from his family this Thursday, confirming
information from Europe 1. The one who had been number 2 of TF1 for 20 years, at the head of the daily newspaper Le Figaro from 2007 and 2012 or news director of Europe 1, died at the age of 81.
Etienne Mougeotte “died this afternoon” in hospital following an illness, said Francis Morel, a close friend of the family and the former leader. A prominent figure in the French media landscape, he had gone through multiple editorial offices. Among his latest professional adventures: the management of the Radio Classique station from 2012 to 2018 and the presidency since 2015 of the Valmonde press group, owner of the conservative weekly Current values.
