The Layer 2 blockchain on Ethereum is likely to benefit from the network’s upcoming Shanghai hard fork. Also known as the “Shapella” upgrade, said Max Williams, chief operating officer of digital asset management firm Runa Digital Assets.
“It will be very useful for Layer 2,” Williams told CoinDesk TV’s “First Mover” Thursday about Ethereum’s upgrade, scheduled for April 12.
Williams believes the upgrade will give developers time. “Change your focus to user experience improvements on Layer 2.”
Shapella is the final upgrade. This will allow the withdrawal of ETH stakes, which Williams sees as other benefits are lowering user fees and increasing Ethereum’s ability to handle transactions.
