Ethereum’s Dencun upgrade is now live on the Sepolia testnet, with mainnet coming soon.

Ethereum core developers deployed the Dencun upgrade on the Goerli testnet earlier this month. The third and final testnet upgrade on Holesky is scheduled for February 7th, after which the Ethereum team expects to set a mainnet launch date for Dencun.

One feature that Dencun is expected to bring is proto-danksharding This aims to reduce gas fees and improve scalability. By introducing a new compressed storage mechanism called “blobs”
