Ethereum developers plan to set a mainnet launch date for the Dencun upgrade next Thursday. This will introduce several EIPs, including proto-dank sharding that is expected to further reduce layer 2 transaction costs.
In a February 1 post on Reddit, Ethereum core developer Tim Beiko said that the latest test of the upgrade “It’s going well,” and highlighted important details of the All Developer Execution Call (ACDE) 180, which focused on the recent success of the Sepolia fork on January 30, as well as the ongoing Holesky testnet upgrade. It will take place on February 7th.

Christine Kim, vice president of research at Galaxy Digital, believes the chance of a Dencun mainnet launch by the end of March is 80%, adding that it is likely Dencun will be live by the end of February. But it said the possibility was close to 40%.
