Esting: Trio beat plainclothes police officers to the ground – official pulls gun – Munich

Three strangers hit and kicked a 50-year-old at Esting S-Bahn station (Olching city). The man, a plainclothes police officer, was taken to the hospital. The incident happened two weeks ago, in the early hours of June 1, but the police have only just reported it.

According to the report, there had been a dispute on the S-Bahn before the physical attack. Three of the suspects and another unknown were therefore in the S3 from Munich Central Station in the direction of Mammendorf. The young men were drunk and spilled beer in the passenger compartment. They met the 50-year-old, an officer from the Munich police headquarters, who was in civilian clothes on his way home from work.

An argument ensued. Then one of the men lit a cigarette, whereupon another passenger intervened and asked him to put the cigarette out again.

The situation escalated into a loud argument. When the S-Bahn stopped in Esting, around 5:45 a.m., the police officer got out. At least three men followed him. They caught up with him in the underpass to Dachauer Strasse and attacked him brutally. They only let go of him when he drew his gun. The attackers escaped on an 835 or X800 bus.

The 50-year-old was taken to the hospital with abrasions and injuries to his face. According to a police spokeswoman, he is now back on duty.

First, the Olching police recorded the course of events. The federal police have now taken over the case and expect to be able to quickly clear it up with the help of camera recordings. Witnesses are being sought: On the one hand, a cyclist who asked the 50-year-old how he was after the crime; on the other hand the man from the S-Bahn, who had intervened in the dispute. He carried a walking stick and a black and green jacket. The witnesses are asked to contact the federal police on 089/51555-00.
