“Her kindness, passion, sensitivity, humor, empathy and love were virtually unrivaled and will be missed terribly by all who knew her,” the statement continued.

The actress was born Estelle Nussbaum on April 4, 1928 in Manhattan. After a theater career, she started in Hollywood in the late 1970s. She had her first roles in “Head Up” and “Once Upon a Time in America”. Appearances in “Harry’s Miraculous Judgment” and “A Terribly Nice Family” followed.

She became a “Seinfeld” fan favorite

Harris then became famous for her “Seinfeld” role as the mother of Jason Alexander’s (62) character, Estelle Costanza. Harris also lent her voice to Mrs. Potato Head (Charlotte Naseweis) in the animated films “Toy Story 2”, “Toy Story 3” and “Toy Story 4”. She was also known for her roles in the sitcom Hotel Zack & Cody.

Estelle Harris was married to Sy Harris from 1953 until his death in January 2021. According to US media reports, she leaves behind three children, three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
