The Essen fire brigade was called because a cat didn’t come out of the engine compartment of a car – or didn’t want to come out. After the laborious liberation, the animal showed little gratitude.

In order to free a cat from the engine compartment, firefighters in Essen had to dismantle a car. According to the information, the black and white spotted animal was hiding behind the underbody paneling. It didn’t want to come out voluntarily. The owners of the car had heard her meowing and alerted the helpers. So the car was lifted with air jacks and supported with scaffolding. Then the right front tire and parts of the wheel housing were removed.

Eventually, the cat was uncovered and fled the engine compartment, hissing, the statement said. Passers-by had previously managed to take photos of her and share them online so that their owners knew. Finally the car was put back together. The incident happened on Saturday morning.
